The third RED Telegram Q&A took place on July 23rd, 2018. As there were some very important reveals in the Q&A, we felt it best to also publish this summary, in order to make the answers therein easily accessible to all.

Armand: Last Friday, our Platform Software Project Manager — Mihai Darzan gave detailed explanations (between development sprints) about the inner workings of the platform on TV Channel 33 and the video will be available with English subtitles. The Business Development team is also working on new partnerships which I believe are very exciting and that we will soon announce. Our goal for the next 2 months is to organize a successful launch of RED so that there is liquidity on the platform from the first day (consumers and producers) and an important partnership exists with PATRES that will promote the platform to most of the renewable energy producers in Romania. Our international subsidiaries from Singapore, UK, Spain, and Germany are all in the process of obtaining the supply license and our Serbian subsidiary already signed the first supply contracts for the first consumers from 1st of August. There is a lot of news that will be announced in the following weeks. I would like to thank our great community for their patience and support and remind everyone that soon MWAT will become the first cryptocurrency that can be used to purchase real electricity!

Armand: Another important aspect to be considered is that because our competitors are closely watching us we don’t want to give away too many details about the platform until the launch!

Armand: I’m going to spoil a surprise now because I want to lift the mood of our community. From October on, all Restart Energy will be able to pay energy bills with MWAT, and we will offer all our customers a special discount for paying their invoices with MWAT.

1. What are the marketing strategies planned in Romania for existing customers to migrate to RED -P?

2. Will there be a base price for KWT from RED’s side, even though it’s a free market?

Armand: 1. RED is planning a national campaign with McCann Erickson advertising agency. It will be coupled with a Guinness World Record Electric Tour of Romania. In the background, our B2B team is campaigning the cheapest energy for industrial consumers to switch to RED and we are gaining producers through PATRES.

Isn’t a type A is required first?

Armand: Restart Energy is the Type A for Romania.

Armand: We are in this project for the long term. We all want RED to become the energy supplier for the global crypto community but we need more confidence from our own supporters.

RED is not just words, it’s based on a real-life business system that improves the efficiency of energy systems. Even if the entire crypto market comes to zero (very unlikely), RED will survive because it’s a self-sustaining ecosystem powered by its users.

I personally prefer to show results rather than speak about what will come. The RED Community is strong and deserves the best results. Please stay tuned because August will be full of surprises (I won’t spoil these ones :) ).

After MWAT becomes the first cryptocurrency that can be used to pay your energy invoices in several countries many new “big” partners will want to work with MWAT.

Are there any plans for RED team to be in Ontario (Canada) at any events, any time? Would love to attend.

Armand: Not at this time. But RED Team will be in September in Dublin at the Citizens Energy Forum invited by the European Commission DG for Justice and Consumer Protection to present the RED Platform!

From what I understand, Type A needs to be established in the United States for Type B to operate.

Armand: The US Franchise is a Type C in the first phase because Washington State is only partially deregulated on the generation side but our local partner, Washington Renewable Energy Corporation will strive to sign a deal with the local gov for installing solar systems and receive incentives. As the business evolves, our partner has the clear intention to develop downstream to energy retailing. It all depends on the expected deal with the local authorities.

Will Restart Energy cease to operate when the RED platform is up and running? Meaning all existing customers of Restart Energy will be moved onto RED, and new customers will also only use RED.

Armand: Restart Energy is the licensed supplier and RED is the creator and operator of the RED Platform. Yes, Restart Energy customers will be able to create free accounts on RED and immediately buy MWAT with Credit Card and use MWAT to pay for energy invoices. Both companies will coexist.

Can the users in Romania buy KWT?

Armand: Yes they can buy KWT with MWAT and MWAT can be purchased with USD/EUR/RON/BTC/ETH or from exchanges.

Armand: It’s important to leverage all our achievements in a way that creates value for any Partners that wants to be affiliated with RED.

Most importantly, in order to make it easy for all our users, a Shapeshift function will be integrated that makes it possible to exchange between currencies with a click!

All our existing customers will have a dedicated Hotline to call for creating accounts on the RED Platform.

We are now in discussions with industrial size consumers like for example our customer Profi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Profi) the largest retailer in Romania with 700 shops to use the RED Platform. Everything is important now because we are matching big consumers that will see immediate savings with big producers.

There is a special synergy with corporate size energy consumers to improve their public image by “adopting a producer” on the RED Platform and having a “public” indicator like the Green Tokens measure the amount of green energy they consume.

These Green Tokens will be deployed on the Ethereum network at a rate of 1 Green Token for each 1000 KWT used for their consumption on the platform

Will Germany be available on the platform this year?

Armand: Our German subsidiary, Restart Energy GmbH has been established in Munchen and we are in the process of recruiting a local manager. I think it will be ready beginning of 2019.

Are we on track for 100M in revenue for 2018?

Armand: As the Serbian subsidiary signed the first energy contracts it’s possible that we will come close to the target.

Apart from the required token amount. What else is Restart looking for in potential franchisees? Would it be possible for you guys to put together a potential franchisee pack detailing what Restarts expectations are of the franchisee, additional requirements, etc?

Armand: Restart is treating each franchise case individually and we are designing the business case together with the franchise owner. This is necessary because each market is different. We are covering the technical part like building the energy basket from acquisitions, matching consumption with production curves (balancing) and forecasting while usually, the franchisee has to take care of local business development with our support. We also provide a full CRM software with customer and agent portals.

Awesome. Well, I’m interested in possibly owning a franchise type B in Australia. Would appreciate any additional information when it becomes available.

Armand: That will be possible very soon as we identified a very good Type A Franchise Partner for the Territories of Australia & New Zealand. An official announcement will come soon about this.

Any chance we can get MWAT powered Dyson-Spheres officially added to the roadmap?

Armand: That’s funny. I would settle with a “Terra Sphere powered by RED”.

And if commercial fusion becomes a reality in the next 10 years we won’t need dyson spheres. :)
