First Spanish RED Franchise Secured by Seasoned Entrepreneur
Restart Energy’s European expansion is well underway, as has been shown by our recent entry into the Serbian energy market, as well as us registering in several countries including the UK and Singapore. Restart Energy has even prepared further expansion by entering partnerships and creating inroads into the Hungarian energy market.
With so much potential shown by our RED Franchise business model, it comes as no surprise that we are immersed in constant progress throughout the European energy market and we were pleasantly surprised by the acquisition of a type B franchise by one of our own fans, Mister Jorge Marcos.
Besides being a loyal supporter and a frequent telegram writer, Mister Marcos is also a successful entrepreneur and businessman who has managed more than 15 companies in his career spanning 43 years and going strong. He has recently acquired one of our type B franchises, that will be established in Andalusia, Spain. By becoming the owner of a regional franchise, he is entitled to our unique business model, which includes full assistance and support, as well as technical training — something Mr. Marcos referred to as “professional work that has been intense and fruitful” — after his three-day training visit to the Restart Energy headquarters last week.
Andalusia is a most welcome opportunity for expansion considering that the market is currently flourishing, with 164 million EUR being invested into 38 renewable energy plants and energy efficiency improvements.
Andalusia is one of the leading European regions in terms of photovoltaic-generated electricity and due to its location in one of the areas with the highest concentrations of sunlight, Andalusia was one of the early adopters of solar energy, and has at one time held the highest installed concentrated solar power (CSP) capacity in the world.
Just as Restart Energy is in constant expansion, so is the Andalusian energy market, having installed 7,895 MW of renewable energy capacity at the end of 2017, with wind power being the number one green energy source in the region, registering 3,338 MW, followed by biomass (1,995 MW), concentrated solar power (997.4MW), photovoltaic (889.5 MW) and hydropower (620 MW). This substantial amount of renewable energy can adequately accommodate more than 1.44 million homes and do away with 3.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide discharges annually.
Further advancement in the Andalusian energy sector involves a 4-year program designed for sustainable energy development, consisting of a 227 million EUR plan, budgeted as follows:
36 Million EUR allocated for sustainable SMEs, which will have advanced benefits such as the implementation of energy management systems (EMS), that will lead to energy processing optimization as well as enhanced performance of the energy generation and transmission system.
164 million EUR allocated for sustainable construction, which will include energy rehabilitations in buildings, sustainable building projects and overall energy improvements for installed equipment.
27 million EUR allocated for Smart grids — a modern electrical grid that uses digital information and communications technology, which ensures power system reliability and enables the efficient use of renewable energies through artificial intelligence.
This long-lasting program is scheduled to come to fruition in 2020 and will rejuvenate the Spanish energy market — Andalusia in particular.
